Tamerra Lynn Herres has trained and performed in the professional dance industry for 19 years. She has studied under and worked with some of the most sought after Choreographers in North America. As a young aspiring dancer, Tamerra was awarded many distinguished awards including holding title in the Dance Masters of America National Competition. Upon graduating from high school in Ontario Canada, she took the opportunity to train in multiple disciplines of performing arts for 3 years in Los Angeles California. In 2008-09, she was the only Canadian to be awarded a Dance, Voice and Acting Scholarship with the Prestigious EDGE Performing Arts Center in Hollywood, California. With Hard Work and Vibrant Enthusiasm, she developed her own flare of style from some of the top working Choreographers in the Industry. Since then, Tamerra has been delighted in sharing her Passion in Dance and Choreography on many levels. She has worked with musical artists such as Nelly Furtado, Shad, Francois Mulder, Jason Young, Blake McGrath to name a few. She also participated in Canada's So You Think You Can Dance where she earned a place as a finals week contestant in the top 100. She was recently cast as a Dancer/Actor in Japan for Tokyo Disney. Some of her other credits include performing for Carnival Cruise lines, City TV's Breakfast Television, Much Music, Kiev Ballet, New York Ace Awards, and Universal Studios Hollywood. Her work as a Choreographer/Performer have also been enjoyed at the Toronto's Original Choreographer's Ball events and The Bazaar Showcases. In November 2012 Tamerra travelled to Cape Town South Africa where she was honoured to work with a non profit organization called All Nations. She had the opportunity to Perform and Instruct dance to the younger generation of children in Oceanview South Africa.
Most recently, Tamerra Choreographed and Performed in a music video for "Walk With Me", an Organization under the direction of Timea Nagy to work against the crimes of Human Trafficking. Tamerra has taught Master Classes in Tokyo Japan, Los Angeles California and in Toronto Ontario. She looks forward in continuing to share her passion with the Dance Community. Tamerra's style has been described as a Passionate, Athletic and Contemporary Story Teller Movement, combined with Elements of Commercial Dance and a strong sense of Musicality. She gains Inspiration from a drive within her, where she describes it as a Fire that is ever present and moving her forward. Her love for people, life and a true passion for the art of dance brings her true fulfillment. Tamerra is very excited to start her journey here at Mather Dance Company!
